LifeSpan’s art program is a place where individuals can express themselves freely using vivid colors in many different kinds of media. The program does not teach art in the conventional sense. Instead, it empowers the individuals in the program to be artists in their own right. The artists are provided with studio space, quality materials, and technical guidance. They are encouraged to work independently and to search for their own inspiration. In short, artists are encouraged to look inside themselves to find their own artistic language. The program offers many different media including painting, pottery, fiber arts, sculpture, and printmaking.
LifeSpan's art program enables individuals of all ages and abilities to create whatever they want. Some of our artists have lived their lives in institutions surrounded by rules and restrictions. Their art gives them a means of self-expression and a sense of freedom and release that they may not experience otherwise. Although many participants are unable to express themselves verbally, creating art enables them to share their version of beauty with the rest of the world.
The art produced in our programs has been displayed across the country and has been sold as far away as the United Kingdom and Japan. The participants in the program make money from the art that they create, thereby increasing their economic independence and giving them a sense of accomplishment.

Please email Stacey Perek or call (704) 944-5110 with inquiries about artwork you would like to add to your collection. Please include your name, email address, mailing address, and telephone number, along with the piece you are interested in.
Once we have confirmed that the piece is available, we will contact you with the total price, including shipping, handling, and insurance fees. Then you can tell us yow you would like to pay for your purchase. If you are paying by credit card, we will process they payment immediatley. If you are paying by check, please allow five business days for your check to clear. Once payment is approved, we will pack and ship your order.
